The discussion focused on improving treatment adherence in chronic and neurodegenerative diseases, especially among elderly and vulnerable patients. For Egis, this is one of the key priorities: the company consistently supports initiatives aimed at enhancing patients’ quality and length of life through continuous and informed adherence to therapy.

Special attention was given to patients with cognitive impairments and dementia, where timely initiation and continuity of therapy are critical.

“In Alzheimer’s disease, time and treatment adherence play a decisive role. Timely prescribed therapy can preserve the patient’s quality of life for years and reduce the burden on their loved ones,” noted Vasily Pirogov, Director of the Women’s Health/CNS Business Unit at Egis.

The company’s role in this agenda goes beyond the development and promotion of medicines. Egis actively participates in expert discussions, collaborates with patient and professional communities, and supports educational projects aimed at fostering a responsible approach to treatment.

“For the company, participating in such discussions is, above all, a focus on people and their real needs. In elderly patients, especially those with chronic diseases, cardiovascular conditions, or cognitive impairments, issues of treatment adherence directly affect quality of life and life expectancy. What is particularly important here is a targeted, patient‑centered approach—one that takes into account age, comorbidities, and the necessary support from family and the healthcare system,” emphasized Irina Kurashkina, Director of Market Access and Government Relations at Egis.

Taking part in the roundtable of the All‑Russian Patients’ Union marked another step in Egis’s long‑term commitment to fostering sustainable treatment adherence and developing a patient support system that responds to real‑world needs.
